Structure:
Kojic acid is a skin conditioner, antioxidant and freckle remover. In human skin, tyrosine is catalyzed by tyrosinase to
synthesize melanin through complex oxidation and polymerization with oxygen free radicals. Kojic acid can inhibit
tyrosinase synthesis and thus strongly inhibit the formation of melanin in the skin. Kojic acid is mainly used in skin
whitening products, anti-aging products, sunscreen products, whitening cleanser and beauty cosmetics.
Kojic acid is widely used in food production. Kojic acid has been used to prevent oil rancidity due to its antioxidant
properties. In recent years, it has been reported that kojic acid has bactericidal and anti-insect effects, and has obvious
effects as a food preservative, freshness preservative and color protection agent.
