Ammonium polyphosphate, referred to as APP, is a nitrogenous phosphate, white powder. According to its degree of polymerization, ammonium polyphosphate can be divided into low, medium and high polymerization. The greater the degree of polymerization, the less water solubility. Crystallised ammonium polyphosphate is water insoluble and long chain polyphosphate. There are five variants from I to V. Among them, high polymer crystalline type II ammonium polyphosphate has a significant advantage in the field of polymer materials because of its good insolubility in water, high decomposition temperature and good compatibility with polymer materials. Compared with halogenated flame retardants, crystalline ammonium polyphosphate II is a new kind of inorganic flame retardants with low toxicity, low smoke and inorganic properties.
As flame retardant for flame retardant fiber, wood, plastic, fire retardant coating, etc. It can be used as fertilizer.
