Product Description

 

NIPA is a derivative monomer. Due to the hydrophilic amide group and hydrophobic isopropyl group in the molecule, its homopolymer has good properties such as low critical solution temperature. The main is used to manufacture polymer gels with temperature sensitivity, for example: Drug controlled release materials, solid materials of enzymes, dehydrating agents, concentrators, etc. Can also be used for manufacturing denatured latex, special coatings, adhesives, etc.

NIPA have also been used in pH-sensitive drug delivery systems. Some examples of these drug delivery systems may include the intestinal delivery of human calcitonin, and the delivery of ibuprofen.When radiolabeled NIPA copolymers with different molecular weights were intravenously injected to rats, it was found that the glomerular filtration threshold of the polymer was around 32000 g/mol.

NIPA have been used in gel actuators, which convert external stimuli into mechanical motion. Upon heating above the LCST, the hydrogel goes from hydrophilic to hydrophobic state.This conversion results in an expulsion of water which causes a physical conformational change, creating a mechanical hinge movement.
