Retinoic acid is a class of naturally-occurring or synthetic retinol derivatives with vitamin A activity.
Retinoic acid can increase the nuclear division of epidermal cells and the turnover of epidermal cells, forming stratum corneum
cells that have loose adhesion and are easy to fall off. Can remove existing acne while inhibiting the formation of new acne.
Retinoic acid can also affect the melanogenesis of melanocytes. Its effect is multi-site, and it inhibits the activities of three types
of catalytic enzymes such as tyrosine hydroxylase, dopa oxidase and dihydroxyindole oxidase. Function, thereby reducing the
formation of melanin and reducing skin pigmentation.
