Clomipramine hydrochloride is a tricyclic antidepressant. Its main function is to block the reuptake of norepinephrine and 5-hydroxytryptamine in the central nervous system, and its blocking effect on the reuptake of 5-hydroxytryptamine is stronger. It also has antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects, as well as sedative and anti-cholinergic effects.
